In Class A, the rivalry between Damon Bonello and Joseph Scicluna, both riding Gas Gas motorcycles, once again attracted most of the attention.
Bonello made a good start in all six sections as Scicluna conceded a couple of penalty points that hindered his progress on the day.
Scicluna battled on bravely but his hopes were dashed as Bonello advanced to the last two sections with a clean result to win the series.
Scicluna had to settle for second place followed by Rowen Bonello (Beta) and Gary Debono (Sherco) in that order.
The Class B honours at the Mosta quarry went to Ian Scicluna, on a Beta. Manuel Camilleri (Gas Gas) was the runner-up.
This Sunday, the series shifts to Mqabba for the season-ending sixth round of the Enduro championship.
The issue is still open with Matthew Gauci, riding a Yamaha, currently leads the standings with 92 points, closely followed by Joseph Scicluna (KTM) on 79.
