Two separate rush hour accidents involving three buses yesterday morning heightened the traffic chaos when two main roads had to be closed as a consequence.

The first accident occurred at about 7 a.m. in December 13 Street, Marsa, when a Toyota and a bus were involved in a collision.

The 24-year-old Toyota driver, from Luqa, was taken to hospital by ambulance and was found to be grievously but not critically injured.

The bus driver was a 24-year-old from Mqabba.

Just over an hour later, two buses collided in Naxxar Road, Birkirkara, and two passengers, a foreigner and a 47-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay, required hospital treatment for grievous injuries.

The two drivers, a 36-year-old from Msida and a 47-year-old from Dingli, were also taken to hospital where they were found to have sustained slight injuries.
