A fish festival will be held at Menqa Square, St Paul’s Bay, on Saturday at 6 p.m. Freshly-caught fish will be for sale, as well as fish dishes prepared by restaurants in the area.

There will also be typical local sweets, delicacies and fruits for sale, while band marches and a musical programme will provide the entertainment.

Boat rides in a luzzu around St Paul’s Islands will also be available.

Informative brochures on the fish typically caught in Maltese waters and fish recipes will be distributed.

The Malta Aquaculture Research Centre within the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs will be setting up a sea-water aquarium displaying fish reared at the centre.

There will be a park and ride system from Għajn Tuffieħa Road to the venue and back costing €1 (children under 10 will travel for free).

A fun train will be stopping in Qawra and Buġibba with pick-ups every 45 minutes. It will drop visitors off at the venue.

The fish festival is being organised by the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs in conjunction with St Paul’s Bay council and various establishments in the village. For more information visit www.mrra.gov.mt or send an e-mail to naturalmentmalti.mrra@gov.mt or call 2590 4110/130/179.
