A solo exhibition by Vince Dimech is being hosted in Mosta.
Dimech (1967) showed an interest in art from a very young age, especially in sculptures of the moving and active body. He studied the human form at the Malta School of Arts under the expertise of Joseph Casha.
He has taken part in numerous collective exhibitions and was asked to create a bust in memory of veteran broadcaster Charles Arrigo in 2014. The bust is housed in the exhibition venue and can be admired on site.
The genre closest to Dimech’s heart is that of sacred sculpture. Throughout the years he has established a reputation as an artist who pays close attention to detail in his artistic work. He has produced works in fibreglass, monochrome and acrylic paint. However, his preferred medium is terracotta.
This is his first solo exhibition of sacred works.
■ The exhibition runs until March 18 at the Razzett tal-Markiż Mallia Tabone in Mosta. Opening hours are from Monday to Saturday, from 6pm to 8pm and on Sunday from 10am till noon.
