London publishing house First has been chosen to be the official publisher for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Malta.

The Official Chogm 2015 Publication produced by First will highlight the important role of the Commonwealth in world affairs, together with its challenges and opportunities.

It will be circulated among all heads of government, ministers, Chogm participants and delegates as well as its international readers.

The Commonwealth summit, known as Chogm, is held every two years and brings together leaders from 53 states, home to 2.2 billion citizens, of whom 60 per cent are below the age of 30.

Malta will be hosting Chogm for a second time, having already hosted the event in 2005. The second will be held between November 27 and 29 and the meetings will be taking place at a number of historic venues around the island. The heads of State and of government retreat will be at Fort St Angelo, in Vittoriosa.

Phyllis Muscat, head of the Chogm 2015 taskforce, said: “The publication will be a valuable reference work and highlight the important role of the Commonwealth worldwide.”

Rupert Goodman, chairman of First, said he was delighted. “Given the importance of the Commonwealth and of Chogm to world affairs, this represents an excellent opportunity to continue our work in producing official Chogm publications of real and lasting value.”

With its head office in London, First was founded 25 years ago and publishes specialist periodicals, textbooks and special reports on countries, international organisations and conferences.

First is a winner of a Professional Publisher Award for Publishing Excellence and received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2010 and 2013 on the recommendation of the British Prime Minister.
