Fiorentina are through to the Coppa Italia final after the Viola scored a goal in each half to see off Udinese 2-0 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium last night.

The win handed Vincenzo Montella’s team a 3-2 aggregate win and now will face the winner of tonight’s semi-final between Napoli and Roma in the May 3 final in Rome.

Fiorentina took just 13 minutes to take the lead when David Pizarro sent a dipping cross towards Joaquin who quickly nodded the ball towards Francesco Pasqual who unleashed a fierce volley that flew into the net.

Udinese were stunned and they quickly swarmed forward in search of an equaliser.

Antonio Di Natale came close five minutes later but his curling shot finished just over.

The Friulani came close again when Gabriel Silva saw his effort blocked by goalkeeper Neto.

Udinese’s best chance of the half came on 33 minutes when Di Natale connected to a Pereira cross but his dipping header came off the post.

On the restart, Joaquin almost made it 2-0 but his deflected shot was pushed away by goalkeeper Simone Scuffet.

But Scuffet could do nothing on the hour mark as Juan Cuadrado hit a thumping drive that flew into the top corner of the net.

Udinese were reduced to ten men in injury time when Maurizio Domizzi was dismissed for dissent.
