Fino, in collaboration with Veneta Cucine and Electrolux, held the second Design Thinking workshop at its Mrieħel showroom, earlier this month.
Chaired by architect Paul Camilleri, the workshop featured a line-up of speakers including Future Concept Lab sociologists Francesco Morace and Linda Gobbi.
Luigi Campello and Graziano Lazzarotto focused on the Electrolux process of developing a product based on analysis of “consumer insight” and their real demands and needs. Mr Campello is president and general director of operations at Electrolux Appliances in Italy. Dr Lazzarotto is built-in trade and sales manager at Electrolux Appliances.
Andrea Branzi, architect and director of the school of design at the Milan polytechnic, discussed how to move from concept to marketable product. He was followed by Dante Donegani, director of the Master’s in design at Domus Academy.
The workshop was followed by a design party which gave guests a chance to network and exchange ideas. Mr Camilleri later presented The Fino Awards for Tomorrow’s Designers to the best three Art and Design MCAST students who exhibited their designs at the workshop in the Fino Fouri Salone. The winners were selected by the workshop attendees.
