The Decorative and Fine Arts Society (DFAS) is launching its second season of cultural lectures for 2016-2017.

The series, which opens in October and comes to an end in June, consists of six lectures delivered in English by experts in their fields.

This year’s choice of lectures offers something for everyone. The season debuts on October 6 with a study of icons, followed by dining in style through the ages and a look at the Art Nouveau movement.

A study of the artist El Greco and his adopted city of Toledo, followed by the influence of French taste and style on British Royal Residences and women’s involvement in Freemasonry complete this varied agenda.

Members of DFAS and non-members (at a fee) are all welcome. Lectures are held in the Amphitheatre of the Le Meridien Hotel in St Julian’s and start at 6.30pm.

DFAS Malta is one of 360 societies throughout the UK and Europe affiliated to the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) based in the UK. It is dedicated to promoting the appreciation and study of fine arts and our international cultural heritage.
