The recent weeks of the MSV Life National League have produced some thrilling twists and turns at the top of Division One where long-time leaders and defending champions okmalta.com drop-ped to third and out of the title running.
Fina have taken over at the top and are well clear of second-placed Ramis. With just one week to go and eight points up for grabs, they already have one hand on the league trophy.
Fina won all eight points against Rogantino’s while okmalta.com dropped two in their win over The Clan.
Ramis drew four-all with fourth-placed Turu’s Knights.
Elsewhere, J. Grima & Co beat Supreme 7-1 and MIA claimed a six-pointer against St James.
After a spell in the shadows of rivals okmalta.com and Ramis, Fina are now right back on top and poised to win the league.
They are seven points ahead of Ramis after an all-too-easy 8-0 drubbing of Rogantino’s, needing just two points from eight in their final clash against MIA.
Fina opened the scoring against Rogantino’s with a sedate 719-640 game one victory, but then really turned on the style to make it 4-0 with a huge 940-696 game two win.
They took game three 825-670 for all eight points, and a team total of 2,484 for the night.
