My wife and I have been regular visitors to this beautiful island for over two decades. I would like to draw the attention of the authorities to an unattractive sight in the lovely Siġġiewi square. The nice corner where, once, one could sit and enjoy the daily village life is not bearable anymore because of the cat filth and the unbearable stench that surrounds the place. Cat faeces are extremely dangerous if not cleaned after a short while. When transferred to humans, the parasites in it can cause a disease known as toxoplasmosis, which results in flu-like symptoms and muscle pains that can last for a month or longer. I am an avid animal lover but a relaxing place turned into a filthy cat village definitely doesn’t do much justice for one of the loveliest villages on the island.
