A regular committee meeting of a Żejtun racing pigeon club took a nasty turn after a fight broke out between members yesterday morning.

Police officers were called after hot words were exchanged during a meeting of the South East Pigeon Club, situated in Bones Street at about 10.30am.

Sources said drinking glasses were thrown during the heated exchange.

However, a police spokesman said no one was hurt.
