Eight people were involved in a fight at a cemetery in Żebbuġ yesterday over the clearing of a relative’s grave, the police said.

It is not clear why the family members got into an argument, but as the undertakers opened up a grave – normally done two years after a burial – the relatives turned up and started quarrelling.

It turned into a brawl involving both men and women, and created quite a scene at the cemetery as members insulted and threw whatever they could find at each other.

Nobody was injured but the police intervened.
