Gozo Channel carried fewer passengers and cars between January and March this year, according to figures released by the National Statistics Office.

The statistics show the number of passengers ferried between Malta and Gozo dropped by 2.9 per cent when compared to the same period last year. Ferried vehicles also dropped by 4.3 per cent. Between January and March, Gozo Channel carried 774,174 passengers and 223,866 cars. In March alone, just over 300,000 passengers used the Gozo ferry.

In the three months, Gozo Channel carried out 4,798 trips between the two islands, an increase of 3.8 per cent over the same period last year.
