There were 29 fewer non-fatal accidents at work between October and December last year when compared to the same period in 2013, according to NSO figures.

No fatalities were reported in the period under review but 752 individuals suffered injuries on the workplace, with manufacturing proving to be the most dangerous sector (21.1 per cent of accidents), followed by construction (15.4 per cent) and transport and storage (13.2 per cent).

The figures show that most injuries affected the upper parts of the body such as the fingers and hands, with wounds and superficial injuries being the most common, followed by dislocations, sprains and strains.
