Hundreds of people had a long wait in Ċirkewwa to board the ferry yesterday morning after Gozo Channel’s largest vessel went out of service for a while.
The company on Saturday apologised for delays in its schedule, as one of MV Malita’s ramps was under repair.
But with another of its three ships, the Ta’ Pinu, out of service for the retrofitting of its decks and only the smallest ferry in operation, those hoping to cross over to Gozo during a busy weekend boarded a lot later than expected.
A long queue of cars soon trailed the Ċirkewwa coast with drivers hoping to squeeze into the Gaudos, which only takes 82 cars.
The Malita, which can take twice as many cars, was seen on its way to Malta to restart service at about 12.45 p.m.
