Le Meridien St Julian’s Hotel recently launched Festa Fridays at its outdoor restaurant, Il-Pjazza, on level 1.

Festa Fridays, the brainchild of general manager Franco Vella and the hotel’s team, is a feast of traditional dishes and folk entertainment by the Paul Curmi dancers, presented in an ambience of a village feast, including banners and all, throughout summer.

Patrons at Il-Pjazza are offered as starters a feast ofMaltese meze and dips like kirxa (tripe) served with hotftira (bread), bigilla (bean spread), aljoli (garlic paste),bebbux (snails) and pulpettital-makku (white bait fritters).

Pasta is served from alive cooking station thatoffers the traditional tarja moqlija (pan fried vermicelli), ravioli and spaghetti with rabbit sauce.

As mains one can feast on a selection of hot meats, including rabbit, stuffed roast pork, beef olives and Maltese sausages. For those who like fish, there is tuna and swordfish.

Dessert specialities include prinjolata (a carnival sweet cake), imqaret (fried date pastries), ħelwa tat-tork (Turish delight) and żeppoli (sweet choux pastry) among others.

One may also choose from a varied Montekristo wine list.

Barbecue nights are held on Saturdays.
