The total number of outbound tourists increased to 142,228 in the third quarter of this year, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.
This is a 9.8 per cent in-crease when compared to the same period last year.
Italy and the UK remained the most popular destinations, with 47.4 per cent of the trips made being to those two destinations.
During the third quarter 126,709 trips were made to EU countries, a 7.7 per cent increase over last year.
A rise was also recorded in the total number of nights spent by outbound tourists, which reached 1,120,466.
