Classic styles and daring designs were among the creations paraded during Saturday night’s 16th edition of the Malta Fashion Awards.
Models acted as a canvas for make-up artists, hairdressers and local and international designers.
As they strutted down the catwalk, lined with eager onlookers, fashion photographers captured the images that would be circulated to countless magazines and websites.
The awards brought the Malta Fashion Week, that started on May 22, to an end. The glamorous week included a string of fashion shows and exhibitions held in Valletta.
For the first time since the Malta Fashion Awards began in 1997, the event was yesterday held at Smart City.
Claire Ciantar won the female model award while the title of best female photomodel went to Valentina Rossi.
Karl Bonnici won best male model and Robert Galea best male photomodel.
Rosemarie Abela seized the award for new fashion designer, Marielle Calleja won the hairstylist award, Mateja Camilleri the make-up artist award and Kira Drury the fashion stylist award.
The photographer award went to Kurt Paris, while Daniel Azzopardi was named best fashion blogger.
