So Civil Liberties Minister Helena Dalli has gone a step further, which for me is a step too far.

She announced that a Marriage Equality Bill is being drafted, as if the Civil Unions Act does not go far enough or too far enough.

So now our politicians will be putting LGBTIQ ‘parents’ at par with us heterosexual married parents or couples.

The Chambers Dictionary defines marriage as “a ceremony, act or contract by which a man and a woman become husband and wife” and ‘the union of a man and a woman as husband and wife”.

By doing so, Dr Dalli and all consenting MPs want us to believe and accept that because they legislate, so be it.  This is a fake law which legalises a ‘fake’ marriage since such a marriage between same sex couples cannot in any way be consummated.

Again, according to the Chambers Dictionary: “To make marriage legally complete by sexual intercourse”, and “the act of sexual intercourse which makes a marriage legally valid”. Thus, same-sex marriage is no marriage at all.

Rather, it is an insult to us legally, sincere and faithfully married couples. I would be more than obliged if Dr Dalli and consenting MPs explain how a marriage between same sex couples can be consummated and whether in the event of annulment these same sex couples will mention the failure of marriage consummation as one of the reasons.

Thus, whatever the law states and whatever our politicians legalise, the stark fact remains that LGBTIQ couples can adopt but cannot have children of their own. So much for equality!

What an insult to us heterosexual married couples. Dr Dalli do not knock at my door.
