Malta delegate Carmen Carabott was appointed FISEC international committee secretary following an annual general assembly in Malaga, Spain, last week.

Carabott has been a FISEC Malta official for the past 11 years, playing a key role in all successful Games held on our shores during her time in office.

In Malaga, the FISEC International sub-committee, known as CIRPP, was also named. Another Maltese official, Julie Bajada, has been confirmed as secretary of this body.

FISEC Malta president, Bro Martin Borg, headed the Maltese delegation at the assembly. David Azzopardi, the technical director, and Lawrence Fenech, res-ponsible for logistics during Games, also attended.

A technical evaluation of the last Games, held in Malta in July, was carried out in Malaga with all delegates present speaking positively about their experiences.

A presentation on next year’s Games, to be held in Hungary between July 5 and 11, was also made.

Meanwhile, Math Pieters and Lies Jansen, president and vice-president of FISEC International respectively, praised the sterling contribution of Louis Borg to the organisation.

Borg, a former vice-president, didn’t stand for re-election this year.
