The Foundation for Human Resources Development will be holding its national annual conference and HR and Training Fair 2011 on October 14 at the Intercontinental Hotel in St Julian’s.

This year’s conference will address the increasingly indispensable role of the HR function at board level, a function that is now being considered as a catalyst of any organisation.

The HR profession is on the move, offering pragmatic people solutions that will help the business move forward in the face of increasing competition and an ever-changing economic scenario and business uncertainties.

Participants will benefit from the strongest and most diverse programme ever put together by the foundation. The conference will see the participation of two high-profile speakers in Europe – Robert Conlon from DC Gardner, and Jill Miller from the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development.

The two speakers complement each other and will put managers to the test on whether they are truly on board and firmly in the driver’s seat or just spectators.

Participants will also have a selection of nine workshops to choose from, together with a panel discussion of leading entrepreneurs and professionals.

The workshops have also been well thought out to focus on particular areas and emerging issues and trends that will have an effect on businesses.

The panel discussion is meant to offer an opportunity to participants to hear first-hand from people on the ground who are managing operations and facing competition challenges every day.

Following last year’s success, the foundation will once again be organising an HR and Training Fair which runs concurrently with the conference, whereby 20 stands will be on exhibit, offering various products and services mostly related to people management. Participants will have ample time to visit these stands and to network and meet colleagues.
