Fleur de Lys Office Group domi-nated the second game of the best-of-three final play-off against Attard Tenovar to lift the National Cup.
After winning the opening match, FDL deserved to take the Fr Anthony Parnis Cup home after another convincing performance in what was a one-sided second game.
Inspired by Valerio Savio, FDL made a strong start that rattled Attard as they raced into an 8-2 lead.
The first time-out only served to motivate FDL even more and they extended their lead to 16-6 before wrapping up the set 25-7.
Attard’s reception continued to be erratic. With no attacks from their end, FDL moved 10-2 ahead in the second set.
FDL’s Gaston Camilleri and Louis Reynaud effectively blocked any attacking attempts from Attard while Savio’s spikes, from both front and back court, were finding their mark.
FDL went on to win the set 25-13.
The third set was a mere formality. Attard initially tried to make a reaction, reducing the gap to 8-6, but after that they only scored two points to FDL’s eight.
With a number of substitutions allowing all the players in their squad some time on court, FDL clinched the set 25-15 to win their second honour this season and stay on course for a treble.
