I must confess I am one who never uses the public transport and have not used it since I got my driving licence a very long time ago. Until September 30, I had neither used the new service provided by Arriva.

Much has been written about Arriva over the past three months and I am sure some of the complaints are justified while others would have a different reason and agenda to write to complain about the service.

A group of eight friends planned our yearly get-together during which we spent a day in Gozo to take a short break from our daily duties.

We got to Victoria and met in a café to plan the day and instead of the usual driving around in separate cars, which always ended in one of the cars getting lost or even getting to the wrong place, one of our friends suggested we spend the day venturing out with the new public transport.

The service provided by Arriva in Gozo on that day was second to none. We took different bus routes, always leaving and arriving on time, all journeys being conducted by smart, well-educated drivers, while the comfort and cleanliness on each of the buses we took was optimal.

Well done Arriva in Gozo. I might even try the service being provided in Malta.
