Throughout history, the maxim that ‘if a lie is told a thousand times it eventually becomes the truth’ has been ably used by man to justify any kind of abomination.

Never was this more true than during the Nazi era when the assertion that certain people – Jews, gypsies, Slavs etc. – could be safely considered as being sub-human led to the committal of some of the most horrendous crimes ever recorded.

Today, it is clear our secularised Western world has as its main aim the eradication of the Judeo-Christian culture and its values that have existed among us for these last 2,000 years.

Moreover, it is intent on using this maxim, that a lie repeated ad infinitum will become the truth, to bring about changes in society that can only be described as a throwback to the dark ages of a world without Christ. The lie that is constantly being solemnly proclaimed is that being ‘progressive’ entails passing laws which allow, among others, divorce, abortion, same-sex unions, euthanasia etc.

What is never revealed is that divorce, abortion, homosexual acts were all part of ordinary everyday life before the coming of Christ.

All this ‘progressive’ behaviour was taking place in societies where men fought each other to death during gladiatorial fights, where babies were exposed to the elements and left to die if their father so decreed and where women were considered to be a chattel to be used and discarded at will. This is the kind of progressive society we are trying so hard to emulate.

The coming of Christ showed us that another world was possible. The sermon on the mount, the Magna Carta for Christians, taught us that being merciful and having purity of heart, being poor in spirit and promoting peace is the surest way to live a serene life, despite the inevitable sufferings, and to achieve everlasting happiness at the end of our worldly journey.
