The Astronomical Society of Malta invites all interested parties to an evening under the stars, on the night of the Perseid meteor shower’s peak.

This will take place tomorrow at 9pm in Triq il-Grottli, Xgħajra (see map for exact location). The society will be setting up telescopes through which attendees will be able to observe the moon and Saturn.

Participants are more than welcome to bring along their own telescopes and binoculars, although this is not necessary. The meteor shower itself is, however, best observed with the naked eye.

While there is no age limit for participants, the area might be unsafe for children, who should therefore by accompanied by adults at all times.

The area is easily accessible by car with a parking area close by.

Attendees are encouraged to bring along flashlights and, should they wish, mats or chairs.
