Fabio Capello has just steered England to another qualification in a major tournament as his men topped Group H in the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

This is the fifth time that England had earned a passage to the European Championships without losing a match – the other occasions being in 1980, 1988, 1992 and 2004.

England picked up the point they needed to seal qualification with a 2-2 draw in Montenegro but their celebrations were spoilt by the dismissal of striker Wayne Rooney who has now been banned for three matches.

Capello already announced that Rooney will not be used in the run-up to the European Championship as the Italian coach seeks a valuable replacement, at least for the group stages in Poland and Ukraine.

Capello has now used 57 players – five goalkeepers, 19 defenders, 19 midfielders and 14 strikers in his 40 matches in charge.
