The government has pencilled in the debate on the Enemalta agreement with the Shanghai Electric Corporation of China for tomorrow.

The Opposition, however, insists it wants a copy of all agreements signed so as to create a level playing field in the debate, although it has agreed not to publicly discuss commercially sensitive clauses.

The matter was again brought up at yesterday’s meeting of the House Business Committee.

Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said the government had already published more than the previous administration had ever done. Agreements with commercially sensitive clauses could not be published.

PN Deputy Leader Mario de Marco said the Opposition was still hoping the government would publish all the relevant signed agreements, pointing out the clauses that could not be publicly debated.
