The Malta Employers’ Association has welcomed changes to tendering rules favouring small and medium enterprises.

It said they were in line with its proposals to the political parties before the election.

The rules will cut bureaucracy and make it easier for SMEs to bid for public tenders by reducing or eliminating financial outlay when they come into force on October 1.
