Emirates Airline will introduce daily flights to Phuket in Thailand in December.

Phuket, a popular holiday island in the Andaman Sea, will become Emirates’second destination in Thailand on December 10.

“We are confident that Phuket will prove a popular destination for our passengers, especially those from Europe, the Middle East and the UAE,” said Emirates airline president Tim Clark.

Emirates currently operate four daily flights between Dubai and Bangkok.

Emirates Holidays, the airline’s tour operating arm, offers tailor-made holidays to Phuket, that include a hand-picked selection of five, four and three-star hotels.

Its annual brochure, A World of Choice, highlights many of Phuket’s attractions, from lush vistas and the turquoise waters of its sandy western shoreline, to cultural landmarks such as Chalong Temple and old Phuket Town.

In addition to Phuket, Emirates will launch a further four destinations over the next six months: Washington DC on September 12, Adelaide on November 1, Lyon on December 5, and Warsaw on February 6.

Meanwhile, Emirates plans to restart flights to Tripoli in Libya on October 29.

Under the new schedule, Emirates’ four-weekly flights to Tripoli will leave Dubai every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 9.25 a.m. and arrive at Tripoli International Airport at 2 p.m.

Emirates operates flights on a daily schedule from Malta to Dubai via Larnaca, Cyprus.
