Japan will soon be easier to reach for Maltese passengers when Emirates launches daily, non-stop flights between Dubai and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on June 3.

Emirates operates daily flights from Malta to Dubai via Cyprus, providing Maltese travellers with access to the airline’s extensive global network.

Haneda Airport will become Emirates’ 131st destination, and is currently ranked as the second busiest airport in Asia.

Operated by a three-class Boeing 777-200LR, EK312 will depart Dubai at 9.35am and arrive at Haneda Airport at 12.01am the following day. The return flight, EK313 will depart at 1.30am and arrive at Dubai International Airport at 7.05am.

Emirates has flown to Japan since 2002 when it introduced non-stop flights to Osaka. It added flights to Tokyo’s Narita International Airport in 2010.

“We are confident that the demand in terms of both passengers and cargo is strong enough to warrant Emirates operating non-stop, daily flights to both of Tokyo’s airports, offering our passengers more flexibility on the route to Dubai and onwards to over 70 destinations in the Indian Ocean, Middle East, Africa and Europe,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates executive vice-president, passenger sales worldwide.

With a fleet of 196 aircraft, Emirates now flies to 128 destinations, having launched services to 15 destinations in 2012. Warsaw joined the network on February 6 and Algiers was added last Friday.

Emirates Holidays, the airline’s tour operating arm, offers holidays to Japan, with itineraries that highlight attractions in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, as well as the majestic Mount Fuji and the natural beauty of Hakone.
