The emergency landing of a Maltese-registered light aircraft in Sicily on Tuesday is being investigated by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC).

Although the Tecnam P92-JS is registered in Malta, it will be investigated by the Italian authorities because the incident took place there.

The student pilot at the cockpit conducted a flawless emergency landing, according to the managing director of the European Pilot Academy, the Maltese company that owns the plane.
