Groups of pupils recently visited St Francis Centre animal hospital, Ta’ Qali, for educational events conducted by the staff. The visits were aimed at instilling in school children, from a very young age, a caring attitude towards animals so as to reduce animal cruelty.

The activity consisted of a talk to the children by one of the vets working at the animal hospital about looking after pets, followed by a short educational video clip and a discussion.

The children and their teachers were then given a tour around the hospital, stopping for a short while in the wards to learn about the needs of the hospitalised pets.

Creative, educational and fun activities were later held during the rest of the visit.
