An ecumenical service was held at St Augustine church in Victoria last week during the Octave of Prayers for Christian Church Unity, organised by the Legion of Mary (Gozo).

Fr John Muscat welcomed the congregation on behalf of the Augustinian community, while Gozo Bishop Mario Grech and Fr Jeffrey Williams, pastor of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Sliema, delivered thoughts on Christian unity. Several prayers, including an act of faith, the Our Father and a prayer for unity were recited, while the Chorus Urbanus, led by John Galea, sang several hymns.

Oplateks (special thin wafers from Poland) were distributed to the congregation to share with friends and neighbours as a sign of peace.
