A piece of aviation history gently got airborne yesterday as one of the most famous Royal Air Force training aeroplanes, the Tiger Moth, took off from a short strip at the disused former aerodrome of Ta’ Qali. Bought by the Malta Aviation Museum in 2000 and painstakingly restored over a number of years, the 1930s’ bi-plane will be performing aerobatic displays this weekend above the Mdina Grand Prix circuit between 1pm and 2pm.
