Despite the fact that the earthquake that shook the west coast of Crete and many parts in Greece on October 12 was relatively strong, registering magnitude 6.4 on the Richter scale, no damage was reported.
In Malta, the earthquake was recorded by the seismic station in Wied Dalam, and several people reported minor shaking through the online report form of the Seismic Monitoring and Research Unit (SMRU) website.
A series of small earthquakes struck closer to Malta. These occurred between October 18 and 21 close to Tunisia, on October 9 offshore Libya, and on October 19, 23, 25 and 30 offshore Malta (marked in red stars on map).
If you experienced earthquake-related shaking, fill in the online questionnaire on http://seismic.research.um.edu.mt .
