English language school EC will open its first on-campus centre in New York this summer, expanding its presence in the US.

The centre would be located at the State University of New York (SUNY) Fredonia and would open its doors on August 25, EC said.

EC executive chairman Andrew Mangion, said: “EC’s 19th centre worldwide shows a departure from our traditional city centre focus.

“Through listening to the needs and demands of our students and partners, and several years of research into the US higher education market, we are happy to have secured our first host institution agreement with such a well-recognised university.”

Founded in Malta in 1991, EC owns and operates 19 language schools in five countries including the US and the UK.
