As part of the collaboration agreement reached between the referees’ departments of the Malta FA and Dutch FA last month, referee Trustin Farrugia Cann and assistant referee Luke Portelli will officiate in the 60th Ado Den Haag International Youth Tournament this week.

This U-20 tournament will be contested by several teams, including Scotland, Mexico, holders Cruzeiro, from Brazil, Club Brugge (Belgium), Legia Warsaw (Poland), Swansea City (England), FK Senica (Slovakia), and hosts ADO Den Haag.

All matches are being played at the Kyocera Stadium in The Hague.

The first assignment for Farrugia Cann and Portelli will be tomorrow in the Group B match between Cruzeiro and Scotland.

On Saturday, they will officiate the Group A match between Swansea and Legia.

The agreement with the Dutch FA is one of numerous referees’ exchanges undertaken by the MFA Referees’ Department in the last two years.

“Such exchanges are indeed fruitful for our top match officials, especially the young and upcoming ones who are earmarked for a FIFA Badge recognition in the years to come,” the MFA Referees’ Department said in a statement.
