This month marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Malta’s national poet Dun Karm Psaila and the 140th anniversary of his birth in Żebbuġ.

Known for his humble lifestyle, Dun Karm died on October 13, five days before his 90th birthday.

The National Feasts Committee is organising a corteo which leaves the Floriana Primary school at 9.15 a.m. tomorrow. Those present, including President George Abela, Education Department officials and Floriana local councillors will head towards Dun Karm Psaila’s monument close to the War Monument in Floriana.

The main event, including the dramatisation of some of Dun Karm’s best poems, laced with musical scripts performed by the Saint Benedict College band, will be held at the Catholic Institute.
