The wholesale value of fresh fish caught by Maltese and Gozitan fishermen amounted to €1.8 million between April and June, according to figures issued by the National Statistics Office.

This marked a 30 per cent drop compared to the wholesale value of €2.6 million during the same period last year.

The amount of fish caught during the second quarter fell 39.5 per cent. This was due to adverse weather conditions, the NSO said.
