A 39-year-old Briton was yesterday accused of causing the death of a 60-year-old man in a traffic accident in St Julians on Saturday morning.

Justin West, who appeared before Magistrate Doreen Clarke, was accused of the manslaughter of Tony Grixti, driving when unfit due to drink or drugs, having consumed al­cohol beyond the legal limit, driving in a dan­gerous, reckless and negligent manner and causing damage to vehicles.

The accused pleaded not guilty, was refused bail and remanded in custody.
