Racing pigeons are protected by law and the hunters’ federation FKNK has warned members it will take drastic measures against anyone caught shooting them.

The Federation of Pigeon Racing Clubs said last week racing pigeons on training flights were returning home shot or not returning at all.

The hunters’ federation said yesterday it had reached an agreement with the pigeon clubs and they would be cooperating to analyse the incidents of pigeons shot.

The hunters’ federation noted that pigeon races would start tomorrow and members of the two federations had to show reciprocal respect.
