The Dominican missionaries in Albania would like to thank the Mission Fund for a donationof €2,000.

The friars of the province of Malta have been involved in mission work in Albania for the last 20 years, caring for the spiritual and social needs of their parishioners.

For quite some time, they have harboured a dream of building a pastoral and social development centre in the village of Lagjja Mirdita, which lies within the limits of their parish in Durrës.

On September 19, 2015, they realised their dream when they inaugurated a simple but functional centre, which would enable them to care for the spiritual needs and welfare of their parishioners. This centre consists of a new church, a kindergarten, halls and rooms in which healthcare as well as catechism courses for spiritual formation and holistic development could be offered.

The Mission Fund has already supported this project in the past years. In addition to this, thanks to the scheme ‘Helping from a distance’, many children, now youths, were able to go to university or acquired other professional qualifications.

Thus, they were able to find a good job, giving them a future in their own country.

May we take this opportunity to encourage more benefactors to keep sustaining the priceless work carried out by the Mission Fund by sending used stamps and through their support and contributions. Donations can be made online or by direct bank transfer to one of the following accounts: HSBC (Account No: 061 197 448 050), Bank of Valletta (Account No: 163 007 980 19), APS (Account No: 200 008 207 62) or Banif (Account No: 000 879 631 01).

More information can be accessed from the websites www.missionfund.org.mt or www.opmalta.org.

We invoke God’s blessing on all benefactors. Only God can reward them for their generosity towards people who are in need of help.
