Robert Cassar was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in recognition of his research with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Newcastle University, UK.

Cassar’s work focused on the exploration of political and ideological sensibilities present in modern digital games.

The primary objective of his research was to determine what role these forces play in establishing cultural and social norms.

The results obtained from this study have been published in a number of international academic journals.

Cassar’s work was partly funded by the Malta Government Scholarship Scheme.
