I have observed that the Church insists that it is her civil right to voice her opinion against the introduction of divorce. I agree. What I do not agree with is that the Church is selective with these rights. In the case of the alleged paedophile priests an internal investigation (a lengthy one, I might add) found against these priests prima facie. So why weren’t these findings submitted to the police?

As far as I know if someone is in the know of a criminal act and does not report it one is considered to be an accomplice thus committing a criminal act. Why is the Church hierarchy getting away with all this? I am under the impression that special privileges to priests and their ilk have been done away with. Can someone please explain?
