Two 18-year-olds go to a casino in Malta; the foreigner is accepted, the other is rejected and told to come back seven years later – he is European, Maltese and discriminated against in his own country.
According to Maltese law, Maltese citizens can only enter casinos if 25 years or older. The reason? Supposedly to protect our youths. However, this same outdated legislation allows 18-year-old Maltese citizens to gamble with the same casinos online, Maltco Lotteries and Easybet.
Will the government change this outdated discriminatory legislation today, or be forced to change it tomorrow?
