Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar is inviting its members and the public to its third cultural walking tour around the heritage gardens of Floriana.

Historically, gardens in Malta were usually born as appendages to palaces and stately homes. However, Floriana, known as Malta’s ‘garden city’, boasts several public gardens set in the fortifications and a beautiful horticultural heritage.

Joseph Buhagiar, director of Argotti Botanic Gardens, and his staff will take participants round the Mall, Argotti and St Philip’s Gardens, giving insights into their history, together with information on the trees and plants to be found there, while delving into the lives of those who created them.

• The tour, organised in collaboration with the Floriana local council, is being held on Saturday, May 21, at 2.30pm. Tickets may be booked by visiting: www.faa.org.mt or https://ticketengine.faa.org.mt/

Event details:

Duration: approximately 2.5 hours

Price: €13 inclusive of refreshments served at the end of the tour (tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes)
