I am 34 years old and when I was at school I remember well the strict discipline that our teachers exercised. On many occasions I was smacked with wooden rulers and even had my hair pulled whenever I misbehaved.
On the other hand, bullying by fellow students was negligible because most of us were afraid of the teachers.
Today, 20 years later, I and many others consider ourselves to be responsible adults, yet bullying and arrogance prevail in schools.
