Now that the road works at il-Kunsill tal-Ewropa are taking shape and nearing completion, one could not help but notice the incredibly huge roundabout opposite the petrol station.

I do not understand why such a big area is used to construct a mega roundabout which will not ease traffic but will make matters worse especially during rush hours. With a project that took one year to conclude, I’m sure that there are better solutions than just building a roundabout. Moreover, the problem with roundabouts is the high cost of maintaining them.

On a funny note, the roundabout is so big in size, that the government can build a housing estate with front gardens on it. Better still, a gigantic monument depicting the female organ can be built so that it complements the one next to the Lidl supermarket a few metres away!
