With reference to what The Times (July 25) quoted Anders Behring-Breivik as saying regarding local political parties, I would like to state the following.

Azzjoni Nazzjonali is now defunct. As its former leader, however, I strongly disassociate myself from Mr Behring-Breivik’s perverse political ideology and condemn in the strongest terms possible the brutality he inflicted on his own people.

Azzjoni Nazzjonali’s concern lay in the fact that a small island like Malta could not risk, at any time in the future, being divided into two completely different cultures due to the large number of illegal immigrants coming to our shores. Since that time, the efforts of both the government and the opposition to contain the immigrant flow have justified AN’s concerns.
