I have had occasion to compliment, through these columns, the good customer service that had been offered to me by Solo Opticals of San Ġwann/Birkirkara.

Likewise, I feeI I should also register my disappointment at the lack of after-sales customer service that I experienced with this same company.

My husband had ordered a pair of vision glasses from Solo Opticals. Six weeks ago, a problem developed and he took these spectacles to Solo Opticals for the necessary repairs.

These opticians have been using delaying tactics for the past six weeks, informing us that they had to order a special part from abroad to fix it.

Only last week, I was assured by the owner that the part would be in Malta by Monday (by courier service) and that the necessary repairs would be effected by Tuesday.

This morning (Tuesday), I was informed that the part did not arrive. Trying to contact the owner on his mobile phone proved unsuccessful because repeated calls were left unanswered. My husband agreed to collect the still broken spectalces.

I ask: What kind of after-sales customer service is this? Definitely a very poor one indeed!
